About Mariah
I am a 20-year-old student in my second year of the English honors program, with an interest in becoming a secondary school English teacher. I was awarded the highest grade in advanced placement (AP) high school English and graduated with honors. I've been writing poetry for over a decade. I have also represented my university in an English conference that they hosted, I had the opportunity to read my poetry there. I've read at multiple venues and I enjoy it more and more every time. I truly love the English subject, and it is what I want to pursue for a lifetime.

Students interested will have guidance in their essay writing, and in their creative writing such as storytelling and poetry. I will aid in developing their essays and overall teaching and elevating their writing skills. I will offer help in preparing for standardized exams, such as PATs, C-CATs, English diploma exam, and just general English assignments as well. Overall I will act as help towards progressing the students' writing abilities in a personalized way, so they learn the most efficiently. The environment will always feel safe and judgment-free, as writing and literature is a beautiful matter, and I would love to encourage students to also find joy in words.
