About Maddy

Hi, I’m Maddy! I graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in English and a certificate in creative writing. During my time at Quinnipiac, I was very involved on campus, which helped me grow as a communicator, leader, and writer. I have always loved reading, writing, and helping others find the right words to express their ideas clearly.
As a tutor, I try to make writing feel less intimidating. I know that essays, resumes, and literature assignments can be stressful, especially when you are not sure where to start or how to organize your thoughts. My goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where students feel confident asking questions, sharing drafts, and improving their work step by step.
I can help with essay writing, resume writing, literature analysis, proofreading, grammar, and general writing support. Whether a student needs help building an outline, strengthening a thesis, editing a final draft, or making a resume sound more polished, I bring patience, creativity, and a strong English background to every session.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is relaxed, encouraging, and based on what each student actually needs help with. Writing can feel stressful when you do not know where to start, so I try to make the process feel more manageable. Whether someone is working on an essay, resume, literature assignment, or proofreading a final draft, I focus on breaking things down step by step and helping them feel more confident in their own writing.
What sets me apart is that I do not just edit a student's work and send them on their way. I like to explain why changes matter so students can learn from the process and feel more prepared the next time they write. With a degree in English, I have a strong background in writing, reading, and editing, but I also understand that every student learns differently.
My lessons are for elementary school, middle school, and high school as well as anyone who wants support with essays, resumes, literature, proofreading, grammar, or becoming a more confident writer.
