About MISS HANNAH

I am a UK resident here on a working holiday visa exploring a new and amazing culture. I am skilled in teaching mathematics and whilst here, primarily to holiday, tutoring felt like a good fit to continue my passion of getting people into mathematics. Every single person studying mathematics is a mathematician I just need to bring that confidence out of you by breaking down the information in a way that works to your individual strengths.

About the lesson

Four of my 11 years experience of teaching mathematics were working at the number one school in England where I was in the leadership team. I teach using a mastery framework which has come directly from my colleagues work with Singapore. I tailor all my sessions to the individual and am extremely adapt to spotting and correcting misconceptions within mathematics. I believe it is important for students to feel confident and understand why when it comes to mathematics. If students blindly follow a method it might not translate into their long term memory and they might not be able to do it in a month or so. Statstically, it is also less likely they will be able to apply the skills when the question is formed slightly differently. I teach mathematics not methods.
