About Ryan
Why do so many capable people struggle to say what they actually mean?
The answer, in almost every case, is skill. Not intelligence. Not confidence. Skill—and it's hard to find someone who teaches these skills directly.
That's what I do. With an M.Ed., a Texas ELAR 8-12th grade certification, and nearly twenty years in education—as a classroom teacher, tutor and instructional coach—I bring professional-grade instruction to every session.
I'm trained in Project-Based Learning through New Tech Network and have spent years coaching other educators on how learning actually works. I bring all of that into every session — not as a lecture, but as a diagnostic conversation. We figure out exactly where the breakdown is, and we build from there.

Reading, writing, research, and argumentation aren't four separate subjects—they're one integrated practice, and I teach them that way. A typical lesson begins by diagnosing exactly where the breakdown is happening: Is it the idea? The structure? The sources? The sentence? From there we work deliberately and systematically toward clarity. My students range from middle schoolers building foundational skills to adults navigating complex research and argumentation. Whether you're untangling a research paper, constructing a real argument for the first time, or learning to read and think at a deeper level, my job is to give you the tools to do it independently—because skill, not just confidence, is what sets a thinker free.
