About Stephanie
My name is Stephanie and I am a languages and linguistics enthusiast. My love for the English language began when I was in early primary school. My parents had taught me to read before I started, boosting my enthusiasm for reading and creative writing. Since then, I have discovered that helping someone else with their English can easily bring me just as much joy, if not more. Even more importantly, it brings more freedom and individuality to the person learning, when they are in a situation in which they need to use the language, be it written or verbal.

During the first lesson, I discuss the student's learning strengths. This allows me to gauge the best techniques to use, such as word games, creative writing, listening to/ writing music, reading books, reading poetry, and various others.
Within the lessons, I encourage casual conversation for the first 5 to 10 minutes, followed by a specific topic being targeted for the remaining 20 to 25 minutes (these times can be adjusted according to the length of the lesson). These topics can be chosen by myself, the student, or an external source (books, school teachers, etc.).
I generally work with students aged 13 and up, including adults, as this is the age-group I would be most used to working with, in music, sport and school subjects. However, I am always more than happy to discuss tutoring a younger student, if desired, as I have some (limited) experience through sport and youth work.
