About Grace

Hello, I'm Grace! I'm an experienced tutor with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and English Writing and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction. I'm based in Brooklyn, New York, but I'm originally from Montana, and I've built a career around communication, language, and connecting with people. I currently work in public relations, and I've taught English to kindergartners in Thailand, tutored adult English learners, worked with children at a neurofeedback clinic, and was also a swim instructor for students with learning disabilities. These experiences taught me that everyone learns differently, and I bring that understanding to every lesson.

About the lesson

My approach is to meet each student where they are. I'm a visual learner and will use visual aids, examples, and clear demonstrations to make concepts easier to understand. I adjust my explanations to a student's pace and learning style.

Typically, I'll begin a lesson by identifying what we're working on and where you need support. From there, we can go through your homework together, or I can prepare materials with examples to explain the solution step by step. We finish by reviewing what we covered so you leave knowing how to approach similar problems on your own.

I've worked with students and professionals in different countries, many of whom speak English as a second language. My education and background in psychology helps me understand how students think and where they get stuck, while my writing background and career in public relations allows me to explain ideas in clear, practical language. Beyond working with students academically, I've worked with children at a neurofeedback clinic and as a swim instructor for students with learning disabilities. These experiences have made me a patient and adaptable tutor.

I work with students who need help with English, writing, grammar, or test prep. Whether they are young learners, students who want support with homework, or adult English learners looking to build confidence in speaking, reading, and writing.
