I am an English and Political Science graduate (summa cum laude, 3.9 GPA) with extensive experience in academic writing, literary analysis, and editorial work. I have studied English at Santa Clara University and Mansfield College, University of Oxford, and completed the Columbia Publishing Course, an intensive program focused on professional editing, writing, and publishing.
I tutor English, essay writing, close reading, and critical analysis for middle school, high school, and college students. My approach emphasizes clarity, structure, and argument. Rather than simply correcting work, I help students understand how to develop strong theses, organize ideas effectively, integrate evidence, and revise with purpose. I aim to make complex texts and assignments feel manageable and intellectually engaging.
What sets me apart is my editorial and research background. I have served as an opinion editor for a student newspaper, where I evaluated arguments, refined tone and structure, and worked closely with writers through revision. I have also worked as a journalism intern reporting on local government and as a faculty research assistant, organizing and archiving scholarly sources for long-term academic projects. These roles have trained me to read carefully, give precise feedback, and adapt my guidance to different voices and skill levels.
Whether you are working on literary analysis, argumentative essays, college applications, or general writing skills, I offer thoughtful, supportive coaching tailored to each student’s goals. My aim is to help students build confidence, independence, and lasting writing skills they can carry across disciplines.
