About Clarissa
I recently returned to education last year to become a qualified teacher in English and Educational Studies at Bishop Grossteste University.
The last ten years I spent working in the Phone Shop Sector, whilst working and training new workers, I found I had a natural knack for teaching and helping people. After getting excellent marks in my GCSE’s and for my National Diploma in college, I decided to work to build up my life experience, I knew for a fact that I wasn’t ready for university and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to study, so I turned my part time job into a full time job and worked up the corporate ladder to assistant manager level.
Once I had worked ten years in the retail sector I realised having trained a diverse range of people I had a knack for helping and teaching people, and a passion I didn’t even realise I had.
I am currently in my second year in studying English and Educational Studies, after passing my first year at a 2:1 level and from July 2020 I will have a BA with Honours. I have the drive, determination, compassion and patience to teach and help students, whether it is for English or Drama GCSE’s, whether you are a mature, returning student, doing your GCSE’s, A level’s or a college diploma. I am the tutor you are after I promise.
I understand that each individual learns differently and at different speeds and levels, I pride myself in being adaptable to each student’s needs, enabling them to maximise their potential to reaching and excelling their goals.
I have the life experience, the compassion, and patience to help you anyway that you need. Whether it is for your exams, your essays reading or proof reading or looking over your C.V or UCAS application.
I am a knowledge seeker, I love learning new things, such as from the 5th of November I will be completing a short course in Makaton, and in the summer of 2020, I will be completing my TESOL Certificate.

I am very adaptable in my teaching method, i find what best works for the student, rather than sticking to a set why. i have found that every student learns differently, whether they are Primary school level, secondary school or even college.

Details
I currently do not hold a driving liscense so I shall be biking to lessons, but also I can meet in a recommended area which is both easier for myself and the Student whether that be a library or a coffee shop, somewhere public to give the student piece of mind.
