About Jacquilyn
It is common for students to hate Mathematics especially when they have difficulty understanding what is going on behind those numbers, symbols, and variables. But with my years of tutoring experience and sharing my knowledge and expertise, my tutees say that I am very patient with all of them and have taught them how to appreciate their lessons even when they hated them at first. One of my most notable achievements was being able to help a high school student recover from her failing marks and that she was able to get 80s and 90s mark in the same subject.

Before starting any lesson, it is best to have a diagnostic to gauge the skills of each student. As I do this, I ask the student the topics where s/he can do best and those that need improvements. This helps both tutor and tutee where to start and compare against later on to see if the skillset of the student has improved.
I typically discuss the lessons following the course outline of the student's class so as to make sure that the pacing is set appropriately according to the needs of the student. To test the student's understanding, I give exercises and homework to solve. As a tutor, I always make sure that my students learn to solve problems on their own for them to hone and master their skills, making sure to offer assistance as deemed necessary, and this is what sets me apart as a tutor. I certainly do not spoonfeed my tutees as I want them to learn the necessary skills so they can be independent and be able to solve problems.
I teach lessons ranging from early grades to high school and select college courses.
