About Austin
In high school my friends and I started a club, volunteering at local elementary schools with the afterschool program, bringing STEM activities and experiments each week. This is where my passion for education began and I have done my best to help spread it to those who are interested. I approach all things in life with the same approach I take towards education- as a student. I am constantly eager to learn more and develop my skills while helping others reach their goals. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of learning any concept. As a lifelong student I understand the challenges of not understanding a concept immediately. I understand how disheartening it can be to put time into a class and not see immediate results. This is why I love to teach, because being a student brings out the best in us.

With each lesson I do my best to use all the styles of my former teachers who have changed the way I view education. We will begin each lesson going over the concept in question. I believe it is important to know WHY we do the things we do, as it makes the material seem more approachable.
In each lesson I will be sure to provide ample example problems. I will do a few to demonstrate the concept, then we will do a couple together, ending with some individual problems that we review together.
I understand what it is like to feel lost in a class, so I will make sure we cover the topic thoroughly before moving on. I will strive to personalize each lesson until I can get a feel for what learning style works best for each student.
I have experience tutoring math ranging from elementary level to college calculus. I am also able to assist with SAT tutoring and high school chemistry.
