About Ayrton

Hi! I'm Ayrton, an Electrical Engineering student with a deep passion for breaking down complex technical subjects into simple, actionable steps.

My journey with math and engineering is a bit unique. Before entering university engineering, I earned an advanced college diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology. Because of this, my entire background is rooted in practical, real-world problem-solving. I don't just look at algebra and calculus as symbols on a page; I use them every day as tools to design circuits, program microcontrollers, and solve engineering challenges.

When I'm not studying, you can usually find me following my biggest passion: racing. I am a massive Formula 1 nerd and actively build and race RC cars, both electric and nitro buggies. Racing is actually where my love for math and engineering comes alive. Tuning a suspension, gear ratios, or optimizing aerodynamics are all just algebra and physics in real life.

Beyond my technical background, I have a strong foundation in coaching and mentoring. I've spent years helping peers and mentoring students in competitive robotics, where the need for complicated concepts are absolutely essential.

I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed by math when it's presented without context. My goal as a tutor is to bring that same high-energy, analytical, and practical mindset to our lessons. Helping you see the logic behind the numbers so any problem can be tackled with confidence.

Teaching Philosophy:
Math can sometimes feel like a foreign language when you're just staring at a blank wall of symbols and formulas. My goal is to strip that intimidation. I focus on building a rock-solid foundation of the core rules and logic, rather than forcing you to memorize steps for a test. Once you understand why an operation works, you can then apply it to any problem you are given.

Typical Lesson:
- "Why": We review core mathematical concepts or formulas using clear, real-world representations.
- Step-by-Step: We tackle problems together. Break down complex equations into simple actions, so you learn the rhythm of solving them.
- Confidence Building: You take the lead on a few problems while I give real-time feedback, helping catch minor errors.
- Wrap-Up: A quick summary of everything learned, including formulas and a few techniques.

My Style and Approach:
I am incredibly patient, supportive, and completely judgment-free. I know exactly how frustrating it is to get stuck on a single line of algebra and feel completely lost. Because of my background in heavy technical problem solving, I'm excellent at spotting the exact point where a concept isn't clicking and explaining it from a different angle.

Whether you're trying to pass your next test, boost your overall math grades, or get ahead, we will work together to help you move forward with confidence!
