About Silas
I am a 21-year-old Bachelor of Design student majoring in Civil Engineering with strong math results (ATAR 89.05, Methods 40, Further 41, plus 80 in Calculus 2 and 81 in Linear Algebra). I am a passionate mathematics student and I have volunteered experience tutoring peers in university-level subjects, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly. Helping high school students with math is something I genuinely enjoy and find very rewarding. I am driven to help students build confidence, understand concepts deeply, and recognize how mathematics can open doors and be applied meaningfully in their everyday lives.

My lessons are for students of all mathematics levels, typically aged 13–18 (Years 7–12). In the first half of each one-hour lesson, I clearly explain topics, focusing on fundamentals, how concepts work, the reasoning behind theorems, and real applications, while working through problems together and assigning homework. The second half is dedicated to guided practice, reinforcing understanding using visual imagery and interactive applets to make complex ideas easier to grasp.
