About Oscar Felipe

I am a student of Electrical Engineering at the Industrial University of Santander in the city of Bucaramanga. I have extensive experience (+5 years) in teaching, where my students enjoy the class while they learn and solve their doubts. I had the opportunity to teach at my university in the area of Calculus. I also have experience giving classes, not only to young people but to adults and children of any age. Currently, I teach personalized and group classes in my house with the necessary elements and a pleasant environment for its proper development. Over the years I have been developing good teaching techniques by learning from classes taught by professors from the best universities in the world such as MIT and Harvard (taking online courses offered by these institutions). This experience allows me to ensure that the student has resolved their doubts at the end of the class and is interested in further expanding their knowledge. I am happy to learn from my students because I am also in a process of formation and understand the difficulties they may have in this area of knowledge. The idea is that we learn hand to hand and look for solutions when we do not have them.

About the lesson

My methodology is quite simple but effective. At the beginning of my class, I always ask the student what previous knowledge brings, what difficulties or doubts he has, to what extent he needs to internalize the subject and what time we have to carry it out. It is important to clarify that it does not matter that the student has little to no previous knowledge, the important thing is that he has the best disposition. Then, we devise a specific structure since each student learns differently at different times. Possibly, the subject is understood with images or diagrams, with colors or simply need a better way of seeing things. Always my goal will be, that the student sees the easy things regardless of the complexity of the subject. For the above, generally, I like to start the topic from scratch. As for exercises, I can supply them in case the student does not bring it with them. Fortunately, computer resources are on our side.
