About Evelyn
Hi! I’m Evelyn, a fourth-year engineering student at Carnegie Mellon University. With high honors standing throughout high school, 800 on the SAT Math Section, and placement on the Dean’s List at my university, I want to help others achieve success in their math and physics coursework.
In high school, I was a tutor at a math and reading center, where I gained a lot of experience working with students of all levels, helping them nail down the core fundamentals of a subject.
As summer approaches, I know SAT prep might be on your mind. I get how overwhelming it can feel, but don't worry, I'm here to guide you and craft a study plan that fits your pace and targets the right material no matter what level you're at!

My teaching method focuses on students' active participation and adapting my teaching style to fit each student's needs best. During a session, I reinforce basic concepts so that students will have a deeper understanding and will be able to apply that knowledge to practice problems. At the end of each session, I summarize the main concepts that we went over, and provide guidance on topics they can work on independently before the next session. My hope is that students will develop a conceptual understanding of the material rather than rote memorization.
