About Haoyang

Hello, my name is Lin Haoyang and now I am a UCL postgraduate student under the department of Electrical Engineering and my major is machine learning. Since I started my undergraduate course in the UESTC, the top one university in the field of communication engineering in China, I have made persistent efforts to accumulate theoretical knowledge and practical experiences. In addition to maintaining excellent academic scores, I actively participated in several research projects. The most memorable research was about the congestion problem on network. I played the leading role to organize a research team, establishing a “Poisson distribution model” to simulate the situation in reality and using the signal processing method to determine the quality of data transformation. By adding the AI technology, we introduced a new methodology to predict timing and possibility of potential congestion. The research was highly successful and our team won the first prize in the national college students' science and technology innovation competition. Furthermore, last year, I won the certificate of 'Apple Teacher' authorised by Apple Inc and mainly focusing on teaching young people those fantastic programming technologies and telecommunication issues and I have worked for Apple in the field of computer science for 4 years.

About the lesson

The teaching methods which I prefer is listed below:
Teaching method based on language transmission: Like heuristic teaching method and story teaching method;
Teaching method based on guided inquiry: Like Developmental teaching method and creative teaching method;
Practical training methods like: Experimental teaching method and transfer teaching method etc.
The typical length of a lesson can range from 1 hour to 3 hours.
I worked as a tutor for secondary students in the field of math for more than 4 years since my undergraduate study and I also obtained the certificate of Apple Teacher last year and mainly focus on teaching programming skills and telecommunication skills for secondary school students.
