Hello internet! My name is Bethany Smith, and I'm working on a PhD in Materials Engineering at Cal. I've been a graduate teaching assistant for 7 years and have tutored individually off-and-on for the last 10 years. STEM topics are my specialty.
My teaching methodology is entirely student-centered. What you need is what we do. Typically, this involves student-specific homework help and test prep but can also include interactive lectures about the topic if the student desires.
I typically work with older high school students and college undergraduates since I mainly teach advanced math topics (like geometry, trigonometry, and calculus). However, I have worked with younger students as well and had a great time so... all are welcome!
