About Dr Tony Punnoose
Dr. Tony Punnoose Valayil received his PhD degree under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, India. Dr. Valayil has postdoctoral research experience at Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, (Sofia, Bulgaria) and University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, (Cassino, Italy). Currently, Dr. Valayil is Assistant Professor at Coimbatore Institute of Technology and Scientist at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Dr. Valayil research interest lies with autonomous hybrid robot, Theory of Mechanisms and Machines, Design and Analysis of Parallel Mechanisms, Design of Mechatronics systems, Biomechanics, and state estimation using AUVs. Dr. Valayil work has included exoskeleton robots like 3UPS/S parallel robot, 3UPU parallel wrist, finger exoskeleton robot, and hybrid (serial-parallel) robots. Also, some other notable works include designing network connected Bennett mechanisms and four bar mechanisms, and car body crash test simulation. Moreover, Dr. Valayil has made several advances in robot kinematics and singularity analysis. Dr. Valayil has experience supervising undergraduate students in various competitions and has received awards from Cameron, a Schlumberger company, Coimbatore and e-Yantra, IIT Bombay. Dr. Valayil has received research funding like the Petar Beron Postdoctoral Fellowship from Bulgarian National Science Fund and WIN small grant fund as external collaborative stakeholder from Universities Wales, Universities UK.
