About Alex
Hi, I’m Alex! I’m a recent Engineering Mathematics graduate from the University of Bristol and I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand maths in a way that actually makes sense.
I know maths can feel frustrating or overwhelming at times, so I focus on keeping lessons relaxed, supportive, and pressure-free. My goal is to help students build confidence step by step, whether that’s improving grades or just feeling more comfortable with the subject.
Outside of maths, I do enjoy some less boring things, I’m really into sport and fitness (especially rugby and skiing), being outdoors, and travelling when I'm able to!

My approach to tutoring is focused on building a clear understanding of core concepts while developing strong exam technique. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps and adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s learning pace and goals. I like to work through examples together, then gradually encourage independent problem-solving to build confidence.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, which allows enough time to cover content, practise questions, and review any areas of difficulty without feeling overwhelming.
I am a University of Bristol Engineering Mathematics graduate with A grades in Maths and Further Maths at A-level. Through my degree, I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as experience explaining complex ideas clearly in group settings.
My lessons are suitable for students up to A-level, including GCSE and younger students who want to build a strong foundation or improve their confidence and performance in Maths.
