About Sithum
Hi, I’m Sithum I’m a civil/structural engineer based in Christchurch and I’ve been working in the industry for about four years, mainly on residential projects. That means I use math and physics every day and I’m used to explaining tricky ideas in simple, practical ways. Outside work I play club cricket, go to the gym, and enjoy a few creative hobbies, so I’m pretty laid-back and patient. My lessons are relaxed but focused – lots of questions, examples, and step-by-step help – with the goal of building confidence as well as grades.

I’m a structural engineer with 4 years of professional experience and a civil engineering degree. I tutor NCEA Maths and Physics for Years 9–13. Lessons are usually 60–90 minutes and focused on building understanding first, then exam skills. I break problems into clear, step-by-step methods, use real world examples to make concepts stick, and give targeted practice questions plus feedback. I’m patient, encouraging, and happy to adapt lessons to each student’s pace and school assessments.
