In my lessons, I keep things simple and structured. I begin by understanding where the student currently stands, what they are comfortable with, and where they struggle. This allows me to teach at the right level instead of rushing ahead or wasting time on things they already know. Building a strong foundation is always the priority because most difficulties in Maths come from gaps in basics.
When I explain a concept, I break it down step by step so it actually makes sense. I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each step instead of just memorising methods. Once the concept is clear, we move on to practice questions. I start with basic problems and gradually increase the difficulty so the student builds both confidence and accuracy over time.
I also spend time on exam technique, since many students lose marks even when they understand the topic. I guide them on how to approach different types of questions, how to structure their answers clearly, and how to manage time during exams so they can perform under pressure.
Outside of lessons, I give clear guidance on what to practice and how to practice it effectively. This ensures that the effort they put in between sessions leads to real improvement. I also track progress and adjust my teaching based on what works best for the student.
My aim is to make students confident, independent, and consistent in Maths so they can approach exams with clarity and perform at their full potential.
