Hi, I’m Jay, a passionate and experienced tutor dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. With a strong academic background in engineering and computer science and hands-on experience designing and teaching STEM-based projects, I’ve worked with learners of all levels to build both subject mastery and academic confidence. About the lesson

The key word that defines my lessons is adaptability. After a first introductory meeting that identifies the student’s greatest area of need, I create a detailed syllabus to map out the optimal path to help the student learn and grow. Whether it’s mastering a specific concept or improving overall confidence, each lesson is built around the student’s goals, learning style, and pace.

I combine guided problem-solving with Socratic questioning, encouraging students to think critically and articulate their reasoning. My lessons typically begin with a short review or diagnostic activity, followed by interactive instruction, real-time practice, and a brief reflection to reinforce key takeaways. Between sessions, I offer curated resources and custom practice to reinforce progress.

What sets me apart is my background in both engineering and design. I don’t just focus on the “what” of a subject, I also bring in the “why,” helping students build intuition and find relevance in what they’re learning. I’ve worked with students from middle school to college, including those studying STEM subjects, preparing for standardized tests, or looking to sharpen problem-solving skills.
