About Courtney

Graduating from the University of Brighton with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts and she has led workshops, drama classes and directed shows for over 10 years.
Her love for theatre and acting really shone out in school – joining in school productions and trips such as performing at The Brighton Fringe Festival, The Great Escape Festival and various short films. Theatre credits include Pearl in Steven Berkoff's West, Peter Quince in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream, and Feste in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
Personal development is a huge factor in her work – always pushing herself by attending classes, workshops, seminars and shows which have included: voice workshops with Jeanette Nelson (Head of Voice at The National Theatre), physical comedy workshops with Brighton's Spymonkey, Trestle Arts Base mask workshops with artistic director Emily Grey. She is currently working towards her ATCL Diploma in Diploma in Speech and Drama Education at Trinity College, London.
She has recently joined the pool of facilitators to teach workshops for Chichester Festival Theatre and regularly covers sessions for performing arts schools throughout Sussex and Surrey.
Courtney specialises in teaching LAMDA Examinations and 1-2-1 audition preparations.
She has a vast amount of knowledge, and is aways eager to pass on to her students.
She has a huge appreciation for Shakespeare, and contemporary theatre is her personal love and forte.
Courtney enjoys her job and particularly loves creativity and theatre.
She holds a current DBS, chaperones license, first aid certificate and public liability insurance.

About the lesson

It isn't about performing a Shakespearean Sonnet word for word, or being able to die the most dramatic death at the end of a sword fight. Training with Courtney provides students with so many transferrable skills. She is not interested in making you the 'best actor' she is interested in making the 'best people' who are individual, can speak well, with good clarity and diction and who are oozing confidence. The performance aspect of drama is just an added bonus! She loves seeing students not being afraid to lose inhibitions, not be afraid to play and make mistakes, build in confidence and blossom into lovely young people! Her very diverse programme of contemporary, classical, stage and screen acting classes allows students to explore different characters and different styles of theatre! Whether in a group class developing skills in character, improvisation, physicality, team work, scripts, choral speaking and masks, or in 1-2-1 sessions working toward LAMDA examinations, festival entries, West End auditions, or college auditions Courtney will be able to help you, no matter what your needs!

Lessons are 30 minutes for LAMDA/1-2-1 Tuition these are priced at £22
If you are taking part in a Combined or Duo LAMDA/2-2-1 session, this is priced at £11 per student per 30 minutes.
If you are a student studying a performing arts course in the Sussex area I can offer you a Discount on 1-2-1 tuition, making it £18 per 30 minutes.
