About Paige
I have studied psychology from sophomore year of high school in the IB program, and continue to find my passion in the subject. While I obtained my B.A in Psychology from Emory University, I understand just how hard this topic and program can be! As a 24 year old, I know that one cannot take life too seriously, so I will try and make lessons light-hearted; however, I am here to ensure that you learn what you set out to, so I will also rein things in if we are not meeting the goals we set out to. I am also a huge advocate for mental health, so lessons will feature frequent check-ins. I want you to be confident in what you have learned, and if it feels like something is missing, this is a safe space to let me know! This is a judgment-free environment, so there is no such thing as a stupid question. I know that life can become hectic, so if there is ever a circumstance that prevents you from giving all of your attention to a lesson, or completing homework, let me know and I will do my best to work within the given situation. While I want you to learn, I don't want this to feel intimidating and formal like your classroom or lecture hall. I do my best to ensure that we are a good fit for each other and that we have a great time while learning!

As a visual learner, and one that learns via working through problems, that is my approach to teaching!
With the multitude of knowledge in psychology, it can seem overwhelming, but that is the part I aim to make easier... I incorporate as much fun, interactive tasks as I can, with real-world and pop-culture references.
Who are these lessons for?: Ideally, a student will be currently enrolled in a psychology course in their high school (Gen ED, AP, IB, or AICE) or they will be an undergraduate in the following courses:
- abnormal psychology
-criminal psychology
- abnormal child psychology
- animal behavior
- primate psychology
A typical lesson will look different depending on your learner an what works best for them, but here is my basic layout:
-Entry Questions: to get the brain juices flowing and ensure we are clear on knowledge gained from the previous session
- Framing and Objectives: introducing what skills and topics we will work on in this lesson
-Lesson & Modeling: structured lessons in which information will be taught in a clear and meaningful manner...Featuring "at-bat" opportunities for students
-Application in the world: reviews ways skills and lesson objectives are applicable in the real world
- Assessment: like an exit ticket, will include questions that will allow us to assess whether the learning goal was achieved
What is an "at-bat"? These are questions sprinkled throughout our lesson that allow the learner to show what they have learned so far. As we know, recall is a great way to ensure we are encoding that knowledge for later use!
