About Iris
Hi, I'm Iris! I graduated with honors from Emory University in the US, where I completed a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Computer Science.
I have around three years of teaching and tutoring experience with students of different ages and learning levels. I enjoy breaking difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps and seeing students go from feeling stuck to genuinely understanding the material.
I'm currently pursuing a career in medicine and scored 520 on the MCAT (131/129/130/130), as well as 80 in GAMSAT Section 3, which focuses on reasoning in the biological and physical sciences.
My academic background spans both science and quantitative subjects, so I am comfortable supporting students across biology, chemistry, math and statistics.

I teach science, biology, chemistry, math and statistics, with lessons tailored to each student's current level and goals.
My approach is to first make sure the underlying concept makes sense, then work through examples together before having the student solve similar problems independently. I focus on understanding why a method works rather than simply memorizing formulas or steps, and I adjust the pace depending on where the student is getting stuck.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes and can include concept review, homework help, exam preparation and targeted practice. I teach students from approximately Years 5–12.
