About Emily
I am a third-year Biology student at the University of Florida with a strong academic background in math and science. I have completed AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB and BC, and college-level Calculus II, along with AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics. My college science coursework extends through advanced subjects such as Biochemistry.
I have a genuine passion for teaching and currently serve as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida, where I help students understand challenging concepts and strengthen their problem-solving skills. Through my teaching and tutoring experience, I have developed the ability to break down complex material into clear, manageable explanations. I love helping students gain confidence in their abilities and reach their academic goals!

My teaching approach focuses on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorizing it. I typically begin each session by reviewing and summarizing key concepts using a concise, lecture-style notes page that students can reference during our session and use for future studying. I believe that practice and active recall are some of the most effective ways to learn, so I incorporate practice problems, interactive discussions, and content-based questions throughout each session to reinforce understanding. I also recognize that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to fit each student's individual learning style, strengths, and needs. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing effective study habits that will help them succeed independently.
