About Christina
I've spent 7 years teaching in a traditional classroom and 9 years homeschooling my daughter. I am continually involved in professional development endeavors. I attend online classes focusing on the neuroscience of learning, differentiation of instruction for special education and the importance of formative assessment. In addition, I have endorsements on my license in reading which is my true passion. I utilize these skills to prepare lessons that target my student's individualized needs. I model lifelong learning because I want to inspire lifelong learning in my students.

As a classroom teacher in both private and public schools, I've found that students need to trust and connect with their instructors. I focus on building strong rapport with my students so I can utilize their background knowledge and interests into lessons whenever possible. A typical lesson would consist of a warm-up activity to build on previous content. Then we would set expectations for today's learning and complete the activity. At the end, we would have reflection. Consistency is a key factor to success and I provide that element in all of my lessons.
