About Selina
With over seven years of experience in K-6 special education, I specialize in supporting students with learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbances, and intellectual disabilities. My teaching methodology blends traditional methods with strategies like bar modeling and conceptual understanding to support both concrete and abstract learning. During direct instruction, I model concepts and apply bar modeling to visualize complex math problems, emphasizing their connection to abstract formulas. Finally, I close with a review, encourage questions, and provide positive reinforcement, ensuring students feel confident in their progress.
