About Roohi

My teaching approach is student-centred, with a strong focus on building confidence and fostering a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. I begin by assessing the student's current level, identifying any gaps in their knowledge, and understanding their preferred learning style. This allows me to tailor each lesson to their individual needs.

I use a range of techniques, including:

Scaffolded learning: Breaking down complex problems into smaller, manageable steps to ensure students understand the underlying principles.

Active learning: Encouraging students to solve problems independently, explain their reasoning, and reflect on their mistakes.

Use of visual aids and real-life examples: Diagrams, number lines, and relatable scenarios help make abstract concepts more concrete and engaging.

Exam-focused strategies: When appropriate, I help students become familiar with common question formats, time management, and mark schemes to improve exam performance.

Typical Length of a Lesson:

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, which provides ample time to review previous learning, introduce new concepts, work through examples, and give students the chance to practise and ask questions. For younger students or those who benefit from shorter sessions, I may adapt lessons to 45 minutes.
