About Richard
I'm Richard Garzón, a music student specializing in Electric Guitar and Popular Composition at the University of the Andes. My studies has primarily focused on electric guitar and I've played in rock, metal, and other musical styles. My musical experience includes working on technique, repertoire, improvisation, accompaniment, and ensemble playing, and I'm currently continuing to develop as a guitarist while studying music. I'm particularly interested in rock and metal, although I've also explored other musical styles that have broadened my understanding and approach to playing the guitar.

Electric guitar lessons for all levels, with a focus on rock and metal. We'll work practically and progressively, adapting to each student's level, interests, and goals. Some of the aspects we can develop include: Right and left hand technique: fingering, alternate picking, sweep picking, legato, downpicking, palm muting, string skipping, and other techniques. Rhythm, precision, and coordination: metronome practice, synchronization between both hands, and applying rhythm when playing in a band. Dynamics and accentuation: control of intensity, articulation, and emphasis to develop a more musical performance. Riffs and accompaniment. Scales and improvisation tools. Tablature, sheet music, and music theory applied to guitar. Rock and metal repertoire based on your interests. If you're starting from scratch, we'll build a technical foundation step by step. If you already have experience, we can focus on the skills you want to improve or develop. My goal is for you not only to learn to play songs but also to develop the tools to play with greater control, intention, and musicality. Classes can be virtual or in person in Bogotá, and I can travel depending on the area. Classes are 45 or 60 minutes long.
