About Arhum

I am an experienced tutor with eight years of teaching across math, science, English, and major standardized exams. Ranked in the top of both my undergraduate and medical school classes and scoring in the 99th percentile on the SAT, ACT, and MCAT, I bring a strong academic foundation to every lesson. My goal is not only to help students master their subjects, but to guide them with patience, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm. Students can feel confident knowing they are working with someone dedicated, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in their success.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around a personalized and flexible approach that adapts to each student’s learning style. I start by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and goals, then create a clear, structured plan that makes even the most challenging topics feel manageable. Whether we’re working on math, science, English, or major exams, I focus on genuine understanding, not memorization, through relaxed, engaging explanations and a bit of humor to keep students comfortable and motivated.
A typical session includes targeted review, step-by-step breakdowns, guided practice, and strategy development. With eight years of experience and a track record of students improving from average scores to top percentiles, my goal is to make learning enjoyable, confidence-building, and highly effective for all grade levels.

This first lesson offered with Arhum will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

My rates reflect the level of support, experience, and personalization I provide for each student. High school subjects and standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, PSAT) are billed at $60 per hour, while college-level courses and MCAT preparation are billed at $70 per hour due to the increased depth and complexity of the material. All lessons include customized planning, curated practice resources, and ongoing guidance outside of sessions when needed. I also offer a free 30-minute consultation so students and families can get a sense of my teaching style before committing to regular sessions. Weekly scheduling is preferred, but I am flexible and always aim to accommodate each student’s needs.
