About Peter
I have taught math and other academic subjects as a substitute teacher and a full-time teacher for over ten years, and I've tutored students privately and while working for companies for seven years. I am professional with all my students, respectful of their learning styles and preferences, as well as responsive to their needs and requests for how to teach them best. I care about my students learning so lessons with me include some checking for understanding. Students can ask me questions, also. These are strategies so they look forward to tutoring sessions as much as possible.

I assess students' deficiencies and skills before and then gently during tutoring. I work alongside them to develop their abilities in subject area math until they're ready to solve problems on their own, even those on tests. A typical lesson plan with me involves first learning how to understand math concepts for a given subject then working through strategies for answering math questions. This is both a "what is it?" and a "how to solve this?" approach. I'm a different kind of tutor by developing math understanding and problem solving skills. These are both essential for the successful math student in elementary school through college math.
