About Brittani
Hi! My name is Mrs. Downey, and I have been teaching for eight years. I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education. I am a highly effective teacher in the focus areas of Elementary and Middle-level ELA. I have a background in teaching reading, writing, language arts, and vocabulary. I cover oral fluency, comprehension, and analysis of a variety of texts.

I love to make ELA applicable to the real-world. Kids want to see value in their education, and my lessons do just that. I will instill a love of literacy in your child. My focus is on elementary and middle-level education (3-8). I will work to become a better reader, critical thinker, creative thinker, and writer.
