About Dewang
I have a very intuitive way of understanding Maths and Physics. Instead of memorising formulae or repeating derivations, I focus on truly thinking about concepts and understanding the logic behind them. I always take the time to learn each topic deeply and from first principles, which allows me to develop clear, natural explanations that many students — and even some tutors — often miss. Because of this approach, I am able to teach topics with clarity and confidence. When I study something, I break it down into its core ideas, rebuild the reasoning step-by-step, and make sure I fully understand why the method works. This means my students learn to understand rather than memorise, and difficult topics suddenly become simple, intuitive, and meaningful. My strong academic background supports this teaching method. I achieved AAA in A-Level Physics, Maths, and Chemistry, and I am currently studying BSc Physics at the University of Edinburgh. These experiences have strengthened both my subject knowledge and my ability to explain challenging concepts in a clear, structured way. I truly believe that a tutor who understands a subject at a deep and intuitive level can remove confusion, inspire confidence, and help students reach their full potential. That is the approach I bring to every single lesson.

As a dedicated GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics tutor, I focus on building strong conceptual understanding before moving into exam-focused problem-solving. My teaching style is clear, structured, and highly personalised. I break complex ideas into simple, logical steps so students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. I also make sure every lesson connects theory with real-world physics and maths so learning feels meaningful and memorable. Teaching Techniques & Methodology: I begin by identifying a student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Explain notions clearly, by diagrams, intuitive reasoning, and step-by-step methods. Solve problems together with increasing difficulty to gain confidence. Past-paper questions and exam strategies tailored to the exam board. Encourage active learning using questions, worked examples, and mini-tests. Track progress weekly to ensure improvement. Typical Lesson Length: My lessons are usually 60 minutes, although I also offer 90-minute sessions for those students who need more in-depth exam practice or support with particularly challenging topics. My Qualifications & Experience: I hold an AAA in A-Level Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, and am currently studying BSc Physics at the University of Edinburgh. This gives me strong subject knowledge and an up-to-date understanding of exact skills students need to succeed in both GCSE and A-Level exams. Who my lessons are for: GCSE Maths and Physics students needing clear explanations, homework help, or exam preparation. A Level Maths and Physics students who want to consolidate their understanding and obtain high grades. I try to create a friendly, encouraging environment in which students aren't afraid to ask questions and are happy to observe growth in self-confidence and results.
