About Marium

I began my teaching journey during my university years, tutoring A Level Mathematics as a part-time job. What started as a way to support my studies soon became a true passion. Even after completing my Engineering degree, I knew I didn't want to leave teaching behind — I genuinely enjoyed it, especially the challenge of solving those "impossible" Further Maths questions!

Since stepping into the classroom full-time in 2017, I haven’t looked back. Over the years, I’ve taught Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, and Physics to a wide range of year groups. This experience has given me a deep understanding of different learning styles and how to adapt my teaching to suit individual needs.

I believe in creating fast-paced, engaging lessons that not only build subject knowledge but also train students to think critically and manage cognitive load effectively. Whether your goal is to build confidence, boost exam performance, or deepen subject understanding, I’m here to support and guide you every step of the way.

About the lesson

As an examiner, I am continually struck by the significant impact that even small misconceptions can have on a student’s overall understanding of a concept. These minor errors, if left unaddressed, often become barriers to deeper learning and long-term progress.

With over 12 years of classroom teaching experience, I have worked with students of varying abilities and learning styles. This has equipped me with a strong understanding of common misconceptions, which I make it a priority to identify and address before moving on to new content. I firmly believe that a solid foundation is essential for meaningful learning.

My lessons are structured to be fast-paced, as I believe in training the brain to process information more efficiently and in developing students' ability to manage cognitive load. Each lesson is one hour in duration, carefully planned to maximise learning without overwhelming the student.

My subject specialisms include Mathematics and Physics up to A Level, and Economics up to GCSE. I bring a deep subject knowledge, exam-focused insight, and a passion for helping students build confidence and mastery in these subjects.

Perfect! Explained clearly, gave encouragement and built his confidence
My son's confidence was low as he failed his AS maths. He said Marium was able to break down what he needed to do so that it was clear. She gave him lots of past papers to do which he did surprisingly diligently and she gave him good feedback.
