About Tasneem

Hi! My name is Tasneem and I am a first class student studying Economics at The University of Manchester. I have always had a special affinity towards Maths, one of the reasons being that 'Eureka!' moment before solving a perplexing sum is an incredible, unrivalled feeling. Having studied GCSE to A-level Maths, I am familiar with the formulaic approach to teaching Maths that teachers have, that sometimes neglect the requirements of individual students because large class sizes do not accommodate for every child in the class. I want to help any student reach their full potential, and hopefully ignite a new-found passion for this discipline. I adamantly believe that any individual has the potential to succeed in Maths, and if they are not already, it is simply because they are yet to have the guidance they need.

About the lesson

Each session will run differently depending on the student and the topic. First, I will give a thorough explanation of the topic and then allocate time to bridging any understanding gaps and answering questions. This is to ensure that you understand and are confident with the main principles of the topic. From there, we will review questions, and eventually progress into past exam questions with a heavy focus on exam technique. Practising many questions is key to my teaching method, as it builds on these foundations brick by brick. I not only appreciate but encourage making mistakes in the learning process, as it allows you to understand that area better than if you had not made the mistake initially. At the end of each session we will review the content of the session, and I will give the student questions to work on for the next session.
