About Sietse
Hi, my name is Sietse and I am 26 years old. I have recently finished my master’s in economics in The Netherlands. Now, I am on my working holiday visa in Australia with some extra time on my hands. I would like to do something useful with this time. And, as I really enjoyed teaching back home, I would like to do some teacher in Australia as well.
During my bachelor I worked as a tutor for an exam training company. My main responsibility as here was providing college students with profound exam trainings, to help them pass their final exams. I tutored first- and second-year university students. And the courses I taught were microeconomics, mathematics, and statistics. Every exam training consisted of 12 hours where it was my responsibility to make sure the students where able to pass there exam afterwards. Therefore, I had to make sure the students really understood the fundamentals of the course well.
During my master I worked as a student assistant at the University of Groningen. This job consisted of me tutoring two classes of first-year bachelor and pre-master students every week for 2 hours per class. During these hours I supervised exams and was responsible for helping students with questions they did not fully understand.

I am convinced that for a student to fully understand a topic he/she should practice a lot with questions. I could talk for hours about a topic and it may seem very easy to understand. But when a student has to reproduce it themselves it is always a lot more difficult. Therefore, my classes will have a little bit of theory, but it will mainly consist of a lot of examples and practice questions. This way the students will have enough to practice with and if problems arise I can explain the questions with some theory.

Details
As this is my first time using this website it is hard for me to decide what a fair price for these lessons is. I think the price listed now is quite cheap. But we will see how we go. I will prepare the lessons in my own time without any additional costs. However, if I need to prepare a lot the price of the lessons will go up a bit.
