About Naomi
Hi! I'm Naomi and I study Economics at the University of Nottingham. I chose to study my degree not only because I had enjoyed it during A levels but I wanted to do a very relevant degree that reflects current affairs. I also thought it would be quite a useful degree for a future career in the financial sector as it a very analytical subject and allows me to develop strong mathematical skills.
I chose to tutor part time as I want to pass on what I had learnt over my experiences whether it be simple tips or tricks or effective revision methods which I found to be quite useful. I also just want to boost the confidence of students and help them enjoy what they are learning as I myself know how difficult it can be to get through a subject you are truly struggling with. Thankfully I had excellent teachers and help to guide me and help me build my confidence and I just want to do the same for others.

My way of teaching will vary with each student as I find different methods work better with different people. In general I first like to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses in the subject by getting them to do a few practise questions from a paper, then judging on how they do we will discuss a plan of what topics to cover for the upcoming lessons. I also like my lessons to be very proactive, so after teaching a new topic I always like to practise a few questions at the end of every lesson to make sure the students have a firm grasp of the content. Typically a lesson will be 1 hour long and I previously worked as a tutor during my free time whilst I was at University. My lessons are mainly for those in year 9, 10 and 11 who are preparing for their GCSEs.
