About Deandrea

Having had a love for maths and problem-solving from an early age, I've been able to provide support to family, friends and classmates; in some cases, to prepare for assessments. I have worked with children as young as 6 years old including those with additional needs, enabling me to exercise my ability to tailor the way I communicate and interact with others, accordingly.

About the lesson

A patient and resilient individual with a passion for helping others to succeed, in the best way I can. I like to promote a positive attitude to learning, regardless of ability and I'm keen on working through problems methodically to ensure well-rounded understanding. I believe that any individual is capable of grasping maths so long as they are consistent in their efforts and receive help most appropriate to them. In order to help tutees solve problem sets, I like to take the approach of getting them to see what knowledge they already have surrounding the topic and providing ways to fill in the gaps. I believe it is valuable to understand the reason behind an action rather than just remembering what should be done. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and joy when I am able to share my knowledge with others in order to help them do well.
