Hi! I’m Nicole, a certified bilingual educator with experience teaching children from Pre-K through 8th grade. I specialize in English Language Arts, Math, and Spanish, with a passion for making learning fun, accessible, and meaningful for every student. As a current graduate student in Educational Leadership, I bring both classroom expertise and a growth mindset to my work with learners of all ages.
My Teaching Method and Techniques
My approach is student-centered, hands-on, and rooted in real-life connections. I believe that all children learn best when they feel seen, supported, and engaged. I adapt my teaching style based on the student’s age, learning style, and goals. Some key strategies I use include:
- Play-based learning for younger students (Pre-K to 2nd)
- Scaffolded instruction that breaks down skills into manageable steps
- Visuals, manipulatives, and games to support conceptual understanding in math
- Storytelling, discussion, and writing activities to build strong literacy skills
- Bilingual support for Spanish-speaking or dual-language learners
Whether your child needs help building foundational skills or wants to stretch their thinking, I provide encouraging, personalized support.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Lessons are always customized, but here’s a general structure:
For Younger Students (Pre-K–2nd Grade):

2. Core Skill Focus (20–25 min): Literacy or math activity using play, visuals, or books
3. Practice & Apply (10–15 min): Guided games, drawing, manipulatives, or storytelling
4. Review & Goodbye (5 min): Celebrate progress, review key points
For Older Students (Grades 3–8):
1. Check-In & Goal Setting (5 min)
2. Mini Lesson (15–20 min): Direct instruction with modeling (e.g., solving equations, analyzing text)
3. Guided Practice (15–20 min): Student works through problems or tasks with support
