About Emily
I have been tutoring for a decade, I have a degree in Mathematics from Duke University, and I am the Director of Business Analytics for a non-profit organization in the youth development industry. I love math, and I love empowering others to grow in their skills and in their confidence. I truly believe that, with enough patience and hard work, anyone can be good at math, sometimes it just takes a little extra 1:1 help in ways that schools don't always provide.

I meet students where they are, striking a balance between strengthening foundational skills and quickly gaining comfort with current material, so they can improve their grades. I prefer a "hands-on" approach, where students work through problems with me and I can see *how* they're approaching problems - I don't do lectures. I have tutored all ages, and while I have comfort with upper level math that many tutors do not, I also work great with little kids. I was a camp counselor for years, and I love teaching our youth.
