About Felicia

I have been teaching roughly 6-7 years now. I can't count the number of students I have taught. Too many to count! But I can count the number of students I have tutored privately. Oh no wait I can't either that's too many to count also! Haha

About the lesson

When it was time for me to go to college a little while ago, I chose University of Nevada, Reno not because it was close to home, but because at the time they had the Dual degree program at the time. I chose the dual degree program because I was able to get my Bachelor of Science Special Education Degree and Bachelor of Science Elementary Education Degree at the same time. But in one program when you usually have to get them both individually. I can teach Language Arts, help with homework, tutor in Math etc. but I can especially help with Language Arts sufficiently because I began to minor in English. English was also my favorite subject in school. I loved to read as well. Language Arts was something I felt I was good at. But I am a teacher. Right now I am tutoring until I go back into the classroom.

The way I teach, I like to get to know my students, their likes, dislikes, and their learning styles. Once I know all of that information, and get to know my students on a more personal level, even after just a conversation or two, then I know how to build my lessons and methods of teaching. I don't have a specific type of teaching because there is no "blanket" type of teaching. Teaching is not a one size fits all. You have to adapt your lessons. I differentiate my lessons to what students need and how they learn, and what levels all my students are on. I take all of that into account as well. I am the type of teacher that wants you to succeed in whatever you are doing. I want to help in any way I can!! If you pick me to be your tutor/teacher, I will find every possible way to help you with whatever you may need! I am a calm person. So, if you choose me to be your tutor, I will work with you in a calm environment until we solve the problem/task at hand that is currently frustrating you.
