About Dharmendra

Hi, I’m a Software Engineer 2 at IBM Labs with a strong academic and teaching background in Computer Science.

I secured 98.1 percentile in GATE and completed my M.Tech in Computer Science from IIIT Delhi with a CGPA of 8.35/10. I also secured 99 percentile in JEE and completed my B.Tech in Computer Science from NIT Srinagar with a CGPA of 8.53/10.

I specialize in Data Structures & Algorithms, High-Level Design (HLD), Programming, and Core Computer Science. I can help you learn:

• Data Structures & Algorithms
• High-Level Design (HLD) / System Design
• C / C++ / Python
• Object-Oriented Programming
• Operating Systems
• DBMS
• Computer Networks
• Coding & Technical Interview Preparation
• System Design Interview Preparation

I have 6+ years of experience in online teaching, helping students build strong fundamentals, improve problem-solving skills, prepare for coding and system design interviews, and understand Computer Science concepts in a practical way.

My teaching approach is simple: start from the basics, build strong fundamentals, and gradually move towards advanced concepts, practical implementation, and real-world problem-solving.

For DSA, we focus on understanding the concepts, developing problem-solving patterns, and solving problems from basic to interview level.

For HLD/System Design, we cover concepts such as scalability, availability, reliability, caching, databases, APIs, load balancing, distributed systems, and architectural trade-offs, along with practical system design problems commonly asked in technical interviews.

Whether you are a beginner, a college student preparing for placements, a working professional preparing for technical interviews, or someone looking to strengthen their Computer Science fundamentals, I can tailor the classes according to your current level and goals.

Let’s learn, practice, and grow together!

My Teaching Methodology
I believe that strong fundamentals are the foundation of great problem-solving and software engineering skills. My teaching approach is structured around understanding concepts deeply rather than simply memorizing solutions.

I follow a concept → implementation → practice → interview application approach.

1. Start from the Basics
I begin with the fundamentals and assume no prior advanced knowledge. Concepts are explained step-by-step in a simple and intuitive manner.

2. Build Strong Conceptual Understanding
Instead of just teaching how to solve a problem, I focus on why a particular approach works, its trade-offs, and when to use it.

3. Learn Through Practical Coding
For DSA and programming, concepts are reinforced through hands-on coding using C, C++, or Python. We gradually move from basic problems to more challenging interview-level problems.

4. Develop Problem-Solving Skills
I teach common problem-solving patterns and encourage students to think independently before discussing the optimal solution.

5. Learn HLD Through Real-World Systems
For High-Level Design / System Design, we start with the fundamentals and gradually design real-world systems. Topics include scalability, availability, reliability, databases, caching, load balancing, APIs, distributed systems, and architectural trade-offs.

6. Interview-Oriented Preparation
For students targeting placements or software engineering roles, classes can include coding interviews, HLD/System Design interviews, problem-solving rounds, and Core CS interview questions.

7. Personalized Learning
Every student has a different learning pace and goal. I customize the classes based on your current level—whether you are starting from scratch, preparing for placements, or targeting software engineering interviews.

My Goal
My goal is not just to help you solve a particular problem, but to help you develop the ability to approach new problems independently and become a confident programmer and software engineer.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I am interested in teaching Python programming language. I am an M.Tech (post-graduated) from IIIT Delhi. So, when I was in my M. Tech, I did TAship (Teaching Assistance) for 2 years in Python, Machine Learning, DBMS and Mathematics subjects. I used to take classes and tutorials of B.Tech students. From that time, I got to know that I can teach well as my students were so happy with my teaching way. My all classes were interactive. As I am working now in a good MNC, I am also interested in teaching. So, I used to spend my time teaching students before and after the office.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

First thing is self-motivation. I want to become a teacher so that I can make a real difference in children's lives. I take the task of developing young people into kind, thoughtful and contributing adults very seriously. I have always been so grateful to my teachers and the educational system for making me the person that I am today. I only hope that I can make that same kind of positive impact on the minds and hearts of my students. So many children need love, reassurance and attention, and I strive to be that person that builds them up when no one else ever has. I want to not only tell but show my students that with commitment and hard work, they are capable of anything and can be anything that they want to be. I hope to create a safe place for the children in my classroom, where teamwork and empathy are rewarded just as enthusiastically as a good test score. Through love and understanding, I believe that I can help students achieve their highest potential.
  • How does your work help society?

From my point of view, a good teacher is the root of society. the ones who motivate the students to do better in every domain and help them A teacher not only brings out the best in the students but teaches them valuable life skills too like communication, compassion, organization, and presentation. Teachers achieve life goals. Teachers are dedicated learners who can not only teach but listen to the students’ problems and try to mentor them to the best of their ability. Skilled teachers handle things patiently and can shape the academic goals of the youths. They rarely do it for recognition rather they follow their heart. The concept of powerful education and teaching students valuable skills are directly proportional. Teachers know the cause and contribute towards shopping for a better tomorrow. So being a teacher, I am also helping society shape the future of students.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

At the time of my B. Tech, I was interested in the GATE exam. So, I used to see the videos of Ravindra Babu Ravulla (RBR) of every computer science subject. He is a good teacher as well as a good motivator. He is the only motivator for me to do GATE. He teaches all of the subjects of GATE CSE. He is like one man army for GATE CSE. I really think he is a role model for me because of his motivation and way of teaching. If you will see his videos, you can’t stop yourself till the end of that course. Really, he is an amazing teacher.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

As I have done B.Tech from NIT Srinagar and M.Tech from IIIT Delhi Tier-I colleges. So, I got better opportunities to explore extracurricular activities. When I was in B.Tech, I was an Inter NIT player of Badminton and Inter Sem player of Cricket. I play Badminton and Cricket in my free time. In my M. Tech, I developed a new hobby of Pistol Shooting. Now, I have played for Rajasthan State Rifle Association. And I am interested in bodybuilding and fitness. I am also handling a page on Instagram for fitness (@dg._.fit) and usually upload videos on fitness and exercises. So overall, I am good in sports and extracurricular activities.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

When I was new on Superprof, I got a request from one student. He said to me that he wants to learn competitive coding on some coding platforms. I suggested he take the first few classes as basic and then we will start with competitive codes. But he refused my suggestion and told me to start with the codes only. So, I started accordingly. But I got to know in the first class that he didn’t know about the print statement in programming. So, I started his classes in my own way like from basics to complex level. After some time, he was very interested in my teaching way. Also, we did lots of codes on leetcode. That was one of the good experiences on Superprof and I feel proud when I remember that moment.
