About Gwarden
I've been in love with Drum & Bass music since the late 90's when it was first catching on in New Zealand. From a pair of rickety turntables, collecting vinyl, and going to classic raves at the Ministry, I lived and breathed the music and culture.
Fast-forward to 2019 and after a long hiatus I immersed myself into digital DJing and returning to both indoor and outdoor gig performances. Along the way I've accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the art of DnB mixing in all its forms, and would like to pass on what I've learned to a new generation of fans (or an older generation returning to a new digital age).

I will take you through the process of becoming a competent Drum & Bass DJ, ready to be booked to play in a live setting.
Via a zoom call I demonstrate each step and provide examples in Rekordbox: how to use the software for tune preparation (eg beatgrid adjustment, setting cue points), how to approach constructing a set (beatmatching, phrasing and transitions), how to use effects and pilot a mixer, and how to train for performance in a live setting.
I also offer in-person tuition for turntables, controllers and CDJs, covering the operation of each.
Lessons can be anywhere from 1-2 hours and are aimed at a beginner-to-intermediate level, any ages.
