I was raised by an English teacher who inspired a true appreciation for knowledge and reading. Beyond that foundation I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, which has brought me to my current Doctorate program in Acupuncture and Herbalism. My teaching method is personalized to each student’s learning style. Repetition of principles and best practices is a huge part of my teaching style. Vocabulary building, brainstorming techniques to inspire creativity and originality in writing, grammar skills, communicative language teaching, and utilizing digital tools and visual aids to support learned concepts. Lesson plans generally consist of: - Student Check-In - Previous session review - Introduction to new topic utilizing differentiation - Homework assignment (may be a written assignment or just to inspire thought) As a tutor my approach is to show how we can make learning new things easier by finding the aspect that genuinely interests my students. Our first meeting together will include a small portion of discovery to help me in determining how to engage you in the development of your writing or English. Beyond that we will build vocabulary, read texts that can inspire more complex ways in writing, and discover your personal style. My writing classes are open to students from 3rd grade to college undergraduate freshmen (8 years to about 23 years). My English language classes are open to all ages.
