About Idaliz

I've taught for many years to various audiences (ages and learning abilities) in classrooms, virtual classrooms, and museums about a variety of topics, from graphic novels and languages to contemporary art. I'm passionate about helping students and anyone learn and grow to their best selves, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I adopt a student-centered approach, tailoring my teaching methods and techniques to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each individual student. My approach incorporates a variety of instructional strategies, including interactive discussions, hands-on activities, multimedia resources, and real-world applications, to ensure comprehensive understanding and retention of the material. A typical lesson plan begins with reviewing previous concepts to reinforce learning and establish connections to new material. I then introduce the day's topic, providing clear explanations and examples to facilitate understanding. I encourage active participation and foster critical thinking skills through open-ended questions and discussions. Drawing on my background in Caribbean women's studies, literature, and art, I bring a unique perspective that integrates cultural context and diverse narratives into my teaching. I am passionate about promoting inclusivity, equity, and social justice in education, and I strive to create a learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed. My lessons are designed for students at various proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced learners, seeking to enhance their understanding and fluency in Spanish. Whether students are pursuing a degree in languages, preparing for standardized exams, or simply interested in exploring the Spanish, English, or French language and culture, my lessons are tailored to meet their specific needs and goals.
