About Nicholas
I began my career in journalism, but switched to philosophy after realizing journalism wasn't for me. I have an undergraduate degree in philosophy from Metropolitan State University in Denver, a Master's in Religious Studies from the University of Denver, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I've been teaching for 20 years, mostly at community colleges in Southern California (East Los Angeles College, Pasadena City College, Mt. San Antonio College) and have also taught writing and environmental ethics at the Colorado School of Mines and religious studies courses at Regis University in Denver. Philosophy courses I've taught include: Critical Thinking, Ethics, Introduction to Philosophy, and Logic. I've also taught Comparative Religion (Far East), Comparative Religion (Near East), and Religion and the Human Question.

With 20 years of experience teaching to a wide variety of students at all levels of academic skills, I can tailor lessons to what meets your needs. I've taught high school students, college freshman, students returning to college after a long absence, and seniors.
