About Peter
I am currently halfway through my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree after graduating from UNSW with a Bachelor of Medical Science, majoring in Anatomy, followed by an Honors year in cardiovascular disease research. I have also sat the GAMSAT, giving me experience with demanding science-based examinations and the study strategies required to prepare for them.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students turn difficult or overwhelming topics into concepts they can understand and approach with confidence. I believe every student learns differently, so I value patience, clear communication and adapting explanations to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. My clinical and research experience has also taught me to think critically, solve problems systematically and communicate complex information clearly.
Outside my studies, I believe in maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, and playing basketball and chess. I also speak five languages, which has strengthened my appreciation for different styles of communication and learning.

My lessons are personalised to each student’s current level, learning style and academic goals. I begin by identifying gaps in understanding, then break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps using diagrams, practical examples and guided questions. Rather than encouraging memorisation alone, I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each concept and apply it confidently to unfamiliar problems.
Lessons are typically 120 minutes and can include concept revision, worked examples, practice questions, exam preparation and the development of a realistic study plan. I also adapt the pace and structure of each session according to the student’s progress and feedback.
I completed a Bachelor of Medical Science majoring in Anatomy and an Honours year in cardiovascular disease research at UNSW. I have also sat the GAMSAT and am currently completing a Doctor of Dental Medicine. This background allows me to teach science using both clinical and research-based perspectives.
My lessons are suitable for secondary-school students, university students and learners preparing for science-based examinations who want patient, structured and personalised support.
