About Gage
I am a flute tutor with 6 years of teaching experience, having taught over 150 students of all levels. I focus on building strong technical skills such as breath control, tone, finger dexterity, and rhythm, while also encouraging creativity, improvisation, and expressive playing. I adapt every lesson to the student’s learning style and goals, ensuring steady progress and an enjoyable learning experience.
I also teach sight-reading, music theory, and ensemble skills, providing a well-rounded musical foundation. My aim is to help students become confident, skilled, and passionate flautists who love music.

I teach flute using a methodology centred on adaptability, positivity, and collaboration. I understand that each student has a unique learning style and tailor lessons to match their strengths, pace, and goals. This ensures lessons are engaging, effective, and enjoyable.
Flexibility allows me to adjust exercises, repertoire, and practice routines to align with each student’s progress and interests. Collaboration is a key component, with students participating in duets, ensemble practice, and interactive exercises to strengthen confidence, timing, and expressive skills. Positivity is at the core of every lesson, fostering a supportive environment where students feel motivated to explore, take risks, and celebrate achievements.
Alongside flute instruction, I provide lessons in music theory, sight-reading, rhythm, and ear training. This methodology nurtures both technical mastery and artistic expression, guiding students to become confident, creative, and passionate musicians.
