About Paul
Dr. Paul Shim graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in biology and went on to attend the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix with the Dean’s Scholarship, it’s top merit scholarship. During medical school, he received the prestigious Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Fellowship and spent an extra year performing research in the lab of Dr. Robert Lefkowitz, Nobel Laureate at Duke University. He completed a preliminary medicine year at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard teaching hospital. He is currently at a dermatology resident at Duke University.
Dr. Shim has significant tutoring experience, been on admission committees, and successfully assisted many students and peers with their medical school and residency applications. He enjoys teaching at all levels, ranging from elementary school to medical school education.
His personal interests include playing and watching basketball and football, cooking new recipes, and spending time with his two cats.
