About Abigail
I am currently Head of Science and Deputy Headteacher of an SEMH school teaching both Science and Maths to KS3 and KS4. The school I work in specialises in 1-1 support so I am incredibly experienced in delivering pupil-centred lessons that target every child’s specific needs within a subject. I have experience teaching AQA and Edexcel Maths and Science. I have qualified teacher status and gained a PGCE in Secondary Science Teaching after graduating from the University of Leeds with a Biology degree.

Whether it be increasing subject knowledge, homework support, exam technique and GCSE prep I offer wrap around support that is engaging and takes into account every student's learning style. Each session is structured with a recap and review of the prior session before we work on new curriculum content. Students are continually assessed using a mix of low stakes quizzes and test based questioning. If the students are preparing for GCSEs exam questions from the exam board will be provided. If needed students can be set additional work to complete out of the session, to ensure they succeed. During the first session with me I will assess the students' prior knowledge and put a progression plan in place that meets the students' goals. Each lesson worksheets and activities will be provided to assist learning and will be marked either during or before the following session.
